Our Story

"Every action we take, every decision we make, is predicated on whether or not it reduces or increases health."

At Kentucky River Cattle Company, this philosophy guides everything we do. I'm Will, and my journey to embrace this ethos started in a roundabout way. Growing up on our family farm in Kentucky, I didn't know if I'd end up as a rancher like my father. In fact, I ended up running an electrical business in Kentucky for many years. I moved to California after my father passed away and the farm was divided amongst the family.

In California, I had the opportunity to work with the cultivation and sale of medical marijuana. This experience opened my eyes to the profound impact natural remedies can have on people's lives. Time and again, I saw individuals stepping out of chronic pain, finding support for mental health challenges, and sharing unbelievable recovery stories from cancer and other terminal illnesses. I witnessed firsthand how much medical marijuana helped my mother after her Whipple surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation for pancreatic cancer. She described her stomach as feeling like crushed glass, and yet, natural remedies helped her find relief. This solidified my belief in our potential to heal ourselves with naturally grown and harvested beef, produce, and herbs.

In 2018, I left California and returned to Kentucky for hip replacement surgery. During this time, I began to envision the future of the farmland I inherited. In 2022, I shifted my focus to building up the farm to supply premium grass-fed and finished beef — the best you can find in the state of Kentucky to heal your body and mind.

We are a small family-owned and operated ranch. Our cattle are pastured on the bottoms and hills surrounding the Kentucky River in Central Kentucky. We work hard to raise happy, healthy cows and calves to create the highest quality product for our customers.

Our plans include building greenhouses for fresh produce available year-round and supporting bees to provide local honey collected from our 175 acres of diverse cropland nestled along the Kentucky River. This holistic approach ensures that we can offer you healthy options that promote a brighter future and allow you to enjoy every bit of it.
